Well ! Its a lazy day out here in Dibrugarh (Assam), typical monsoon retreating weather, raining all day, temperature is down and as usual i had nothing to do,but it had all started well in the morning,by the way last night was quite eventful with my girlfriend over the phone(most of the time i make it eventful),we had had quite a chat over many things including romance and we talked till late night, which resulted in sleep deprivation in both of us especially me as i love to sleep and i had nothing to do in the morning except going to the gym.so,i slept with warm feelings of love and lust(a bit of it)and also hope to get up at 6 am and go for a nice legs workout.but the weather god's had other plans for me,it started to rain heavily and boy! what a weather it became to sleep,i had no knowledge of the world till it was morning and when the alarm rang it was raining quite heavily and the morning was cold(not that cold but still cold in comparison to harsh hot summer that we had this year),so i switched off my alarm and was in a mental dilemma as whether to go out or not and as usual the lazy version of me took over and i went back to the loving arms of my bed......
Two and half hours later i did get up and realised that my tummy has became a pot belly (it was not that it wasn't before ) and it was as if my not going to the gym today has resulted in that, whereas the fact was that i had missed my gym too many times during the past few weeks, preferring instead to sleep rather then go out in the rain (well ! i like to get wet in the rain, what an irony isn't it?)
So,for the whole day it was like me and my loneliness coupled with the occassional cups of warm Assam tea and ELLEN DEGENERES show thrown in between and yes ! facebook too.
And i don't know what got me to think on this non relevant topic but yeah i thought about it and decided to write it down as my first blog.....
WHAT IF WE HAD 7 BILLION FRIENDS?
In the days of Facebook and Instagram, its actually cool to have many people following you,but i am not talking about fans i am here talking about friends( like the real close few close ones that you have with whom you share your joys and sorrows, have fun,etc ),what if you had seven billion of them?,,,,,,,just think about it for a moment ..
Well ! that would be crazy right? imagine when you go out in the morning to the gym or wherever, people in the street greeting you like you are their close friend and imagine that if everyone from the security guard in your building to the gym buddies or the grocery store sales person or managers took time off from their cores and talk to you about their lives for a minimum of 5 minutes.
Now,if you meet 40 people on the way to the store and if you spend 5 minutes with each of them, that would make a crazy 200 minutes i.e 3 hours and 20 minutes just to reach there and you haven't yet bought anything,so by the time you reach your home with the groceries your wife/husband is either dead due to starvation or they are ready to welcome you back with a shotgun.
Or,may be today its your birthday and you log in to your Facebook and you see the notifications that 7 billion people has sent you their greetings and if you are a loving person who likes to reply to each of your friends individually with warm greetings it might just take you a year for you to reply to everyone of them, and by the time you finish, the next 7 billion texts arrives cause its your birthday again.
Or better still,if they think of sending a written letter or an email to express their joy on your birthday, the result would be even crazier, say 500 million decides to email you and another 200 million decides to send you a card, your inbox might not have that much space to receive that much emails all at once( may be google will think about this hypothetical problem ) and what the hell would you do with the 200 million cards ,first of all how would your delivery man bring them to you,he might have to engage all the delivery vehicles that day just for your cards and if out of a population of 1 million of your town say 10,000 people had their birthdays and each of them receives 200 million cards, i say that would be the apocalypse for the postal department. And even if all the cards and gifts reaches you, where would you possibly store them ?
Or you decide that you would throw a huge birthday bash for your friends, now my question is how huge that bash would be?,may be if you decide that you want you closest buddies to come and if that numbers to 50 million, that would be the biggest birthday party ever celebrated on planet earth, may be you have to take them to the moon because there might not be a place big enough for you to party with your 50 millions friends and professional event management team just to have a good time with your friends, besides hiring the services of NASA to take you all to moon.
But ,we have to thank God the clever mastermind behind the creation that he has made the world a huge place where the possibility of meeting everyone is usually zero,he has also divided the world into different countries with strict VISA regulations, problems or should i say the curse of terrorism, drug cartels or low economic development where people usually avoided going, in your neighbourhood there may be divisions/fragments like rich/poor ,good looking/ not so good looking, besides that we in India have many more divisions which prevents a guy from saying hello to someone,i don't know exactly what you call it, but i basically would like to refer to it as ego as these differences are more of a mental kind and also most people would rather keep a close group of few friends rather than have millions of them unlike me who is even more of a loner and like to keep to myself most of the time or my girlfriend and occassionally to a random friend who decides to break my moments of solitude.........
